Fiona Cook

Fiona is currently studying for her final year in veterinary nursing, having initially joined the practice as animal nursing auxillary 3 years ago.

She has always been passionate about animals and over the years has owned many of her own, currently including Phoebe, her geriatric crossbreed; Jasmine the cat; Dexter & Franco the rabbits, Debbie & Daffy the ducks and Maxxie the very spoilt cat.

When she is not mothering her furry & feathery family she enjoys socialising with friends & dancing!

Hope Rawson

Hope studied at Fernwood School and left with flying colours and she is now studying for a qualification in animal care.

Out of work she has her own family of animals including her 2 giant dogs - a Great Dane & a Leonberger, she also has chinchillas, cavies, rabbits , fish and budgies!

Hope's interests are football, horse riding boxing and caring for her animals.

John Tuohy

John is studying for his second year of his Veterinary Nursing qualification at Bottle Green Nursing College in Melbourne. He is a keen Nottingham Forest fan.

Liz Hastings RVN

Liz is one of our Head Nurses. She originally started nursing at the Woodborough Road Surgery way back when; and we were delighted when she came back to work with us. She has 2 girls and several pets at home, plus a much neglected husband! She is a great Take That fan.

Marie Harrison

Marie is our Deputy Head Nurse. She trained with us as a student and has recently been promoted to take on the Deputy Head Nurse role to help Mel and Liz run the nursing team. She has special responsibilty for our drug and diet ordering and stock control. Out of work she enjoys dog walkiing and growing vegetables in her allottment.

 

Melanie Patten DipAVN[med] RVN

Mel is one of our 2 joint Head Nurses.

She has been a veterinary nurse for over 15 years and gained her Advanced Diploma in Veterinary Nursing(medicine) in 2005. She joined Oak House in 2004 and has worked here since then apart from during her maternity leave to have her 2 boys, Henry and Adam.

She now works part-time sharing the Head Nursing Duties with Liz Hastings.

Mel is also our pet insurance co-ordinator and claims person.cShe also runs the practice's puppy parties and is involved with the "Weigh In ' clinics.

Her clinical interests are in medical nursing and fluid therapy. She also enjoys the nursing of hospitalised patients.

Away from work she enjoys spending time with her young family and competing in Dog Agility competitions with her Border Collie Joseph.

Sam Hardwick

Sam recently joined us from working in Worksop. She has special responsibility for organising our nurse consultations and puppy parties.

Sarah Webber RVN

Sarah qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2010 but has been nursing for 10 years prior to this.

She has two daughters and two tortoises, which between them take up most of her time out of work, not forgetting her husband!

Sarah's hobby is Freestyle and Street Dancing. She is a qualified teacher and teaches at her mother's dance school and judges at competitions.
